TYPES OF SANITARY NON RETURN VALVES
- Spring-loaded Check Valves: These NRVs utilize a spring mechanism to keep the valve closed until sufficient pressure is applied in the desired direction, allowing fluid flow. Once the pressure decreases or reverses, the spring force closes the valve, preventing backflow.
- Swing Check Valves: Swing check valves use a swinging disc or flap to control the flow direction. When fluid flows in the intended direction, the disc swings open, permitting flow. However, when the flow reverses, gravity forces the disc to close, preventing backflow.
- Ball Check Valves: In ball check valves, a spherical ball sits within the valve body. When fluid flows in the correct direction, the pressure pushes the ball away, allowing flow. Conversely, when flow reverses, the ball returns to its seat, blocking backflow.
- Diaphragm Check Valves: These valves employ a flexible diaphragm to control flow. When pressure is applied in the designated direction, the diaphragm flexes, enabling flow. Upon reverse flow, the diaphragm returns to its original position, sealing the valve and preventing backflow.
